3-Layer Flower Cut Out Tags on the Cricut

I am in yet another Swap as usual...actually currently participating in about 15 plus swaps...but more about the swap addiction later...lol. So for this swap I made tags. The theme was the colors mostly of the tag.

Here is what the tag looks like all complete.
Supplies

• Teal card stock from DCWV stack
• Pink Card stock from DCWV stack
• Blue and bronze polka dot pattern paper from K & Co best of Brenda Walters stack
• Blue velvet ribbon with brown stitching from Celebrate Basic-Basic
• Heat tool
• Crop A Dile
• Zig Pen
• Teal color grommet 
• Glossy Accents-Inkssentials from Ranger
• Tim Holtz Pearl Mixative- Alcohol Ink

I used my Cricut to cutout the tags using the Make The Cut file I found on the program. I used the shadow feature to make the middle polka dot layer. Then used the shadow feature a little larger and filled in the middle with another shape and welded it to make a solid piece to make the blue backing.

 

After cutting out my pieces I just layered each on top. Using the shadow feature allowed just enough of the polka dot piece to show through giving the tag a little more dimension and color changes. And the bottom blue layer shows through the peek a boo flower shape. I do think if I made it again I would make the bottom layer just a bit bigger so that the edges of the blue paper show more.

After putting it all together with the zig pen I punched a whole on the top and added a grommet. 

 I also went over the pink part of the tag with Pearl Mixative Alcohol Ink. To tone down the pink color just a bit and make the tag pearly. (is that a word...lol)

Next I tied my ribbon into a simple knot and at first tried to adhere it with a glue dot but it kept coming off so I then glued it down with glossy accents. I also experimented with outlining the flower. But to me it looked better without the outline. Also may be because my glitter pen was over spilling on the paper and making the line to thick.
